Summary: Our cabin was a gem! Had a fabulous stay. Only thing that could be improved was the squeaky sofa bed that needed a memory foam topper so as not to feel all the springs. Beautiful grounds, fabulous staff.

Summary: The cabins are comfortable, well-equipped, and very convenient, and the location itself is beautiful. The only downside was discovering that there is a railroad crossing right next to the property. Trains passed frequently and sounded their horns very loudly, which was especially disruptive during the night. We were not informed in advance that the cabins were located so close to the railroad crossing. Had we known this beforehand, it would have been a significant factor in our decision to book, as the noise had a noticeable impact on our stay.

Summary: Fabulous chalet with lots of room, well laid out and very well equipped. It was exceptionally clean on our arrival and housekeeping staff visited each day to see if we needed anything. I particularly liked the way each chalet was lit with fairy lights once it went dark, very picturesque. This resort is in a good location for sight-seeing and is situated in a beautiful setting. It was nice to sit out on the front deck of an evening watching the world go by. I would definitely recommend Castle Mountain Chalets. Just one thing to note: the chalets are located very close to the railway line and the trains are very noisy.

Summary: The service is baaad. The train sounds are very loud and often. I have no plans to visit again. But the male staff who housekeeping is very kind.

Summary: The cabin was dated along with the furnishings but it was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. It is about a 25 minute drive to Banff and Lake Louise and we had an awesome grizzly encounter right down the road on 1A with 3 grizzlies. The staff are great. There is a small grocery store that has essentials, beer, wine and the creamer you will need for your morning coffee provided.

Summary: As I've noted, the property is very well maintained and kept clean,HOWEVER, what the pictures don't reveal is that this lodging is literally off the road, almost like a rest stop off of a highway AND the train runs right behind the property so at all hours of the day and NIGHT, you get to enjoy the Trans-Canadian Railroad roaring by. It's so bad that they actually have earplugs on each side of the beds in the rooms to help you deal with it. The second major issue that we encountered was that this lodging automatically limits your use of the wifi after some arbitrary amount of data so at the end of the night if you're enjoying Youtube or some other streaming service, then be prepared to have it suddenly not function and perpetually refresh. In 2026, that's a bit much.

Summary: Wonderful place to stay for three days
Martin Jun 4, 2026 09:10:32 AM
Summary: Clean cottage, friendly and helpful staff, perfect location between Banff and Lake Louise with many excellent hiking trails nearby. Beware that the railtrack is next to the facility so be prepared...
